The kul devta of the Kanu community, Govind Ji Maharaj, is worshipped on Saturdays. Therefore, his worship is performed with full rituals on Saturdays. All the offerings for Govind Ji Maharaj's worship are prepared on the same day.
In many places, he is also known as Baba Ganinath Maharaj. Govind Ji Maharaj is the son of Baba Ganinath.
On Saturdays, along with Govind Ji Maharaj, thirteen other deities are also worshipped, which is known as the Fourteen Deities (Chaudah Diwan).
